Empty stomachs hurt. They break concentration and make the future seem impossible. Giving food is essential to creating health.

~ Kenya's population has tripled since 1980.  Rising from 16 million to over 46 million today.

​~ Children under 15 years of age make up 42% of Kenya's population.

​~ On average 46% of Kenyans live below the poverty line making less than $1 per day.

~ The birthrate is highest in rural areas where poverty is most prevalent.

~ Education in Kenya is a privilege that most cannot afford.  Even free schools are not 

    completely free so children have to stay home and work instead of going to school.

~ Girls in Kenya get married as young as 12 or 13 years of age.  

~ Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
